Miles Masterson
Miles Masterson grew up as a surfer on the Atlantic Seaboard of Cape Town in the 1980s. He began his career in the early 1990s as Associate Editor at Wavelength surfing magazine in Newquay, Cornwall, before returning home in 1997 to co-found the award-winning youth magazine blunt. Miles’s freelance work has been widely published locally and overseas, including in Men’s Health, Sports Illustrated and The Surfer’s Journal. Penguin Random House South Africa published his first book, How To Surf, in 2009. Following a stint in corporate publishing in the Middle East, in 2018 Miles returned home to found a content agency, Masterson Communications. For the past few years he has also worked as Communications Manager for Protect the West Coast (PTWC), an award-winning environmental NGO based in Cape Town.
